Don't you just love beginning a new adventure? This blog is mine - my new adventure, that is. The fact that it is my blog is, I really hope, completely obvious.
Let me begin by giving a little background on the title I have chosen. "So Many Dreams" is part of a lyric from the song I remember first capturing my imagination. (Those who know me well will appreciate the significance of the beginning of my love affair with music.) It's from So Many Stars, an old Sergio Mendes and Brazil '66 song. Hey, I meant it when I said it was old. Anyway, this blog will be all about the importance and the power of having a dream or dreams, whatever yours may be.
As for me, right now I have a couple of dreams infusing my love of life: graduating (at loooonng last) from BYU, and completing a YA novel I've been working on for about a year and a half now and maybe finding a publisher for it.
By my way of thinking dreams are what make life worth living. They are the essence of hope, without which this life can become pretty dang tiring, oppressive even, at times.
So. Let's hear it for hope. Let's hear it for dreams.
While we're at it, I would love to hear what yours are. Tell me, for what stars are you reaching? Which ones do you already have in your grasp?

Welcome to the blogging world! Dreams eh? I don't even know what to say, I don't know if I really have any now, I am very content with my lot in life presently, and I am not going to ask God for anything more when I am blessed so abundantly.
I'll be excited to keep up on your blog! Yeah for getting it started!!
As for my dreams...I dream of being a stay-at-home mom with only my kids.
And to over come my problem of being scared of everything that is out of my control.
Jo - Personally, I think you are living the dream of living in the moment. When I asked you recently about what the future looked like for Parker I was very inspired by your answer. There is great peace to be had by focusing on the present.
How many people only dream of having peace in their lives? You are a great example of accepting what *is* and letting the future take care of itself. Go, Jo.
So, Tiff, living with a partial fulfillment of your dream right now - the stay-at-home-mom part. Partials are good, too, huh?
As for the other dream you mentioned, let me introduce you, again, to the Michael McClean song "Let It Go." :)
Thanks for understanding Tracy, I was trying hard to find a way to say it without putting anyone down for having dreams, (yay for them!) but also not reaching for things out of my grasp that would make me unhappy.
